One of the most fun things to do when you travel is see the world from the water. That is a different perspective of the same place. I have learned that in many boat trips that my husband and I did. If you have a chance, like us, visit, join a yacht club and get involved in all the fun things that are offered for the members. The monthly event’s calendar is full and it involve social and board meetings, lectures, dinners, challenges cruises, races, boat impromptu raft ups and much more.

In our community at the Fairfield Harbour Yacht Club there is more things to do than we can fit in our agenda. It is structured with a great board and committee chairs members that work together to make all the things happen. Our Commodore Douglas King is very active to keep up with more than 200 members, that includes owners of small and big motor boats or sailing boats. If you come around North Carolina, USA, take a boat ride with one of our friend’s boat and you will feel how much fun it is boating when you travel. You certainly will plan your next trip in a boat touristic destination. Go!

Uma das coisas mais divertidas para fazer quando você viaja é ver o mundo a partir da água. Essa é uma perspectiva diferente do mesmo lugar, que eu aprendi durante as muitas viagens de barco que já fizemos. Se você tiver a chance, como nós tivemos, visite, se torne um membro de um yacht club e se envolva em todas as atividades divertidas que são oferecidas. O calendário de eventos mensal é bem cheio e inclui  atividades como reuniões técnicas e sociais, palestras, jantares, cruzeiros desafiadores, competições, boat impromptu raft ups (barcos amarrados juntos no por-do-sol) e muito mais.

No nosso grupo do Yacht Club de Fairfield Harbour tem mais coisas para fazer do que conseguimos colocar na nossa agenda. É estruturado com um grupo de pessoas no comando de várias comissões que trabalham juntas para que as coisas aconteçam. Nosso comodoro Douglas King é muito ativo e mantém o clube de mais de 200 membros, que incluem donos de barcos grandes e pequenos, à vela ou à motor.
